be safe: a twilight rpg
“We have to leave,” Carlisle whispered, his liquid topaz eyes studying Jacob’s face with sorrow. The obvious look of distress and confusion on the alpha’s face made him sigh, “We cannot remain in Forks any longer… We are at high risk of being exposed.”
“But… why? Where will you go? You can’t take Ness away from me!” Jacob protested, too blindsided by shock and anger to think straight. They couldn’t leave! Not Bella… Not Renesmee! “You just can’t!”
“No, Jacob…we must.”
“But where?”
Carlisle lowered his sadden gaze to the floor; he hated seeing the boy in pain, hated uprooting his family once again, but he had a responsibility to protect them all. After a long moment, he looked up, his tone inarguable, “London.”
the calm before the storm…
All has returned to normal in Forks, Washington. Humans continue about their mundane lives, completely oblivious and unawares of the dangerous secret society that lives among them. The Volturi have returned to their ancient city nested in the heart of Italy. The nomadic vampire clans have scattered to the four winds. The treaty between the La Push shapeshifters and the Cullen family is no more, bridged by the imprinting of Jacob Black and Renesmee Cullen. Two packs still remain, led by Sam and Jake, but time has purified any bad blood, and the two now dwell on Quileute land without conflict, united in their cause to protect the tribe. The presence of Renesmee in the Cullen home has aided Jasper in overcoming his thirst, numbing him to the blood running through her veins and the heart beating in her chest. The battle is over; peace has been restored, and any threat from the Volturi has long since been expelled from the minds of the Olympic Coven. But the sea is always calmest before the storm…the sky grows black…
Secrets never stay hidden forever. A vision from Alice shatters everything the Cullen’s have fought so hard to conceal from the eyes of the mortals around them. Humans were never meant to see their kind in their hunting mode, never meant to see them feeding on the blood of animals, but a lack of caution, a simple error causes them to lose stake in the life they’ve worked so hard for. They have to depart before small town hysteria sets in. Leaving is normal, it’s something their family has become accustomed to throughout the ages, but this time being uprooted isn’t as easy; for Forks has become their home. Heartbroken and frightened, Renesmee clings to the place where she grew up, the only home she’s ever known and Jacob refuses to leave her side. Time is of the essence and in order to escape unscathed the Cullen’s have to make a choice. Jacob decides that wherever Renesmee goes, he goes, as imprinting has made him a part of her and she a part of him. Eager to get out of La Push and experience life outside of Washington, Seth and Leah follow close behind, Seth refusing to leave his alpha, and Leah refusing to leave her brother.then comes the rain…
They settle in London, the Cullen ‘children’ enrolling in a private school while Carlisle takes a new position as a doctor at a local hospital. Jacob and the pack move into a flat close by, only a few blocks away from the Cullen’s newly acquired residence. Things slowly start falling back into normalcy, the Cullen’s brand of normal that is. The new location is rainy and murky enough that they can all live inconspicuously, without risk of exposure from the sun. Once again the family is secure, and comfort isn’t far behind. Until Leah meets Jason… He is devastatingly handsome, inhumanly so; with wheat blond hair, and eyes like the sea after a storm. Leah is immediately taken in by his charm and perfection. But everyone has a secret… The moon reveals Jason for what he really is…a werewolf, one of the infamous Children of the Moon that Lord Caius of the Volturi has hunted close to extinction. He is also the son of the London Pack alpha, Ward Anderson. When the two begin to fall in love, everything that they hold dear is threatened once again and the werewolves have provided the Volturi with just the excuse they need to close in...
